Welcome to the Jamaica Bankers Association

Representing the interests of banks in Jamaica since 1973, the JBA works closely with Government, industry associations and the private sector to build a regulatory environment to promote the growth of the banking industry, thereby contributing to the development of the national economy.

Key areas of focus for the JBA are to develop industry codes and standards within the banking sector; ensure the implementation of safe financial systems to prevent fraud; promote financial literacy on best financial practices and banking products so that customers can make informed and confident decisions regarding their financial decisions.

The JBA Secretariat is located in Kingston, and is led by President, Maureen Hayden-Cater. It is governed by a Committee comprising Chief Executive Officers of member banks who provide guidance and leadership on policy issues which affect the banking and financial sector.
